JRC was founded in 1945 by J. Rulon Christensen under the name JR Christensen & Associates. Mr. Christensen started the company in his garage as a representative of electrical commodity products. Eventually, he changed focus to lighting and became a long and loyal lighting representative. The relationships and foundation that Rulon and Richard had developed set Richard on a path of success and growth. In 1977, Richard purchased the company from his father.

Our Story
Early Beginnings
History
In 1992, Richard Christensen, Kevin Meredith, and Richard Palmer formed a new partnership under the name of JRC Inc. This new entity was carefully shaped by the values of its new principals. They adopted a commitment to “People, Products, and Service” and as they concentrated their focus on these ideals, the new company thrived and grew. The goal was to provide their customers with the best service available in the market through innovation, integrity, and the brightest employees in the business. With this course set, the partners strengthened the company into the leading lighting representative agency in the state.
When Richard Christensen elected to retire, Kevin and Rich purchased the business which continued to grow for the next 19 years under their remarkable leadership. After many years and many positions with JRC, Kurt Miller joined as a Jr. Partner in 2006 and began to take a more active leadership role.
During this time, JRC maintained their focus on People, Products, and Service to become “The Solutions Company”, successfully aiding their customers through all the phases of a lighting project.
JRC Today
In 2019, Kurt Miller and Esther Clawson stepped in as JRC’s new principals and leaders as Kevin and Rich step away from the day to day operations. They continue to focus on the ideals of their mentors as they guide JRC through the new world of doing business.
